Suspect Jeffrey Brian Spaulding, left, and victim Ted Wilberger, 49.

A San Antonio man has been arrested in the murder of his on-again, off-again gay lover, who was found strangled with electrical wire and stabbed numerous times.
Jeffrey Brian Spaulding, 37, was arrested Wednesday in the murder of Ted Wildberger, 49, who was found Monday in a pool of blood at his home.
Wilberger’s home had been ransacked, and Spaulding was seen over the weekend loading items into a U-Haul truck he’d rented with Wilberger’s credit card. Authorities searched Spaulding’s home and found items belonging to Wilberger.
Spaulding’s criminal history includes theft, false imprisonment, assault and robbery across four states. He also recently served prison time in Texas on felony drug charges.
He is being held on $250,000 bond.
