Resource Center needs volunteers for food pantry move

Moving day for the Resource Center Food Pantry is Saturday, Feb. 27. Teams of volunteers are needed to help.
Volunteer coordinator Deborah Cavazos said there’s lots of work to do and not much time to do. The entire move will be done on a Saturday so that there will be no break in service to clients.
The pantry is moving from its Denton Drive Cutoff location to the main community center building at 2701 Reagan St.
“We will need teams of volunteers working at both locations to move fixtures and food, literally tons of food,” Cavazos wrote. “We will also need trucks, at least one with a lift-gate. Corporate/individual support that included trucks, truck drivers and any additional volunteers would be fabulous.”
All volunteers will meet at the current Food Pantry located at 5450 Denton Drive Cut Off.
Teams will work in two shifts.
Shift 1: 8 a.m.–1 p.m.
Shift 2: 11 a.m.–4 p.m.
Lunch & snacks will be provided.
