State Rep. Jessica Gonzalez has filed H.B. 38 that is a comprehensive nondiscrimination bill for LGBTQ+ Texans and for veterans in employment, housing and public accommodations. Currently, neither the LGBTQ+ community nor military veterans are protected from discrimination in employment, housing and public accommodations in Texas.
“I am proud to have filed H.B. 38 in preparation for the upcoming special session of our legislature,” Gonzalez wrote on X. “H.B. 38 is a comprehensive nondiscrimination bill that would codify equal protection for the LGBTQ+ community and military veterans in employment, housing, and public accommodations. HB 38 is a common-sense approach to end discrimination in Texas.”
Gonzalez chairs the Texas LGBTQ Legislative Caucus.
