Via our old pal John Cornyn (don’t ever say he’s totally worthless), here’s a copy of the aforementioned Senate GOP letter that says Republicans won’t agree to do anything in the lame duck session until Democrats have done everything Republicans want to do. The letter, which Cornyn says was delivered to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid this morning, has 42 signatures, which represents enough votes to block consideration of any legislation Democrats put forward, including a repeal of “don’t ask don’t tell.”
“Job Killing Tax Hike” is the new spin on tax breaks for the wealthy. The number of small businesses that fall into the $250,000 and up bracket (those who file taxes as individuals not corporations) is very small, the real breaks are for millionaires. So once again the GOP is being allowed to frame the message and our rights are tossed out the window as an inconvenient bargaining chip.
Why aren’t the Dems calling the Bush Era Tax Breaks, what they are, “Millionaire Subsidies”? Keep the breaks for the middle-class and toss the rest out.
While I don’t agree with the Republicans’ priorities (they’re acting like politicians interested in themselves first and foremost), Haberman’s response doesn’t make a lick of sense to me — it sounds like Democratic politicians’ rhetoric. The pretense that the Republicans’ agenda is “Millionaire Subsidies” is worse than short-sighted — it’s the same partisan political nonsense that is the standard for all of Congress (that includes the Republicans for those who think I’m trying to make a dig at the Dems).
This country has a lot of problems but there are very strong arguments that the most pressing problems are the Congress’ refusal to make the cuts necessary to balance the budget, to focus on the clear Constitutional issues assigned to them, to eliminate the Federal Reserve and behave like statesmen and not politicians.
How many Congressmen want what’s best for the country even if it cost them their political future? I don’t think anyone could, if counting on their fingers, use a whole hand.
Is it not far past time for the citizens to stand up en masse, recognize the failure of the news media to tell the truth and act like the citizens REALLY DO HAVE THE POWER to force Congress to make the right decisions?
When the public gets fed up with “politics as usual,” pauses long enough from chasing money and pleasure, and MAKES IT CLEAR that our leaders better make the decisions that are the better for this country and stop the posturing and political nonsense and CONFRONT and/or IGNORE the news media’s spinning everything to sound the way they want it to sound, this country will start going in the right direction. If not, we will continue to go down the tubes. If you think we’re not on a disaster course, you’re deceived or ignorant or stupid.
We’ve almost destroyed ourselves and the media has been a larger problem than the Congress because though they pretend they’re the protectors of free speech, they’ve really been the greatest deceivers who have empowered the Congressional deceit by not confronting the Congress with their dishonesty and by not telling the public the truth.
But, is it realistic to think the news media (the greatest enemy of America, along with the entertainment media, when it shifts into its “informative” mode) will change their tune? Of course not; they hate America; they hate our Christian foundations and they hate Christians and our God. They couldn’t have made this clearer. They love licentiousness, money, power and darkness.
This is why the Internet is so terrific. If men with good sense will take the lead and cry out with wisdom and a unifying voice to establish right and common sense, and the public will open their eyes to see that money and pleasure aren’t good gods and humble themselves before the living God and cry out for repentance, grace and help, then we have hope.
Without repentance, our nation, which is currently the oldest nation in the world with the same government, will fall.
Obama is the first US president in our history to say to our enemies, “We are not a Christian nation.” (It was no surprise. The man is a muslim and the evidence, which the media WON’T TELL, is overwhelming, out of Obama’s own mouth and confirmed by his deeds.)
Do you really think that God wasn’t listening?
God judges nations and we reap what we sow. Both of those truths are self-evident and our demise is the illustration of these truths and the news media (our greatest natural enemy) has helped keep the nation from honestly looking at the reality of how this once great nation, though we’ve always had failures and things for which we should be ashamed, has fallen into tremendous dishonoring sins against the living God and cherished idols of sexual impurity and greed, while the news media has praised both and ignored God, His commandments, His redemptive sacrifice and mocked His messengers.
Look how the media has portrayed men of God. Is there one whom the media hasn’t portrayed as an Elmer Gantry, or a hypocrite, or a pervert?
This exposes their hypocrisy, because while they love to justify sexual perversion, they love even more, exposing a Christian who has sinned this way. It’s fitting for hypocrisy to be exposed. It’s not fitting to relish doing it, and the media has no greater pleasure than mocking Christians.
This is a cry to start praying. If you’re unsure of what to pray, then simply pray, “Show me how to pray for this nation because I will give You time every week and do it” and believe and anticipate hearing His answer. It may come as an insight or wisdom or understanding. Pursue that which you think might be His direction and remember that God moves by faith. Good and right prayer is a cooperation with how you believe the Lord is leading your to pray. Make time to do it and recognize that we’re in a spiritual war and circumstances and problems will come against you to discourage you and get you to quit. Take that as encouragement that you’re DOING WELL and that’s why the devil wants you to stop.
After receiving God’s confirmation that you’re doing well and He wants you to continue, share what you’re doing with those you think might be receptive and ask them to join you.
It won’t be good for any of us if this nation falls. It will mean terrorism, murder, mayhem, calamity, death and destruction. It’s worth the sacrifice to pray regularly. With God all things are possible. He can save this nation but there is very little time. We’re very late in starting to pray.
Right to copy this is granted to all ONLY if it is copied in its entirety.
May the Lord stir you to pray, encourage and comfort your heart and USE YOU to accomplish His will in this nation which has called itself “One nation under God.”
