Adam Lambert and Andrew Lloyd Webber release “Heaven On Their Minds”
Timed with his role as Judas in Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Jesus Christ Superstar at the Hollywood Bowl, queer singer Adam Lambert teamed up with Webber, the musical theater legend, to release a new rendition of “Heaven On Their Minds” through The Other Songs label.
“I was thrilled when Andrew asked me if I wanted to record a studio version of ‘Heaven On Their Minds’,” Lambert previously told Variety. “This is a great way to commemorate my upcoming appearance as Judas and to give fans all around the world a little taste of what will happen onstage at the Hollywood Bowl.”
This reimagined recording of the song opens the musical and is now available everywhere digitally. Lambert starred alongside Cynthia Errivo in the special Hollywood Bowl performance this past weekend.

Dagger Polyester rebukes commercialized queerness in punk rock debut
On Friday, Los Angeles-based punk polymath Dagger Polyester released their debut LP Perversion For Profit, “a genre-fluid rebuttal against the escalating commercialization of queerness and the ever-growing threat of nationalized fascism.”
Produced by Rock And Roll Hall Of Famer Chris Robinson (of The Black Crowes), Perversion For Profit sees Polyester’s lean into their influences Patti Smith, Suicide, Roxy Music and Talking Heads with their own modern cynicism and sneer.
From publicity:
Effortlessly fusing the jagged, angular attack of post punk with new wave synths and the subtle funk of mid-70s Young Americans-era Bowie, Perversion For Profit features riotous blasts of pure punk rock (“We Stand On The Shoulders Of Giants”), warped disco breakdowns (“Conversion Therapy”), Sade-meets-Ziggy Stardust singalongs (“Spin”), and Chic-indebted ruminations on societal ruin (“The Tower”) amongst the record’s exhilarating nine tracks. Embodying a different character with each song, Polyester theatrically attacks the state of commercialized queerness, the rising threat of fascist autocracy, homophobia, sexism, capitalism, and the often tragic outcomes of the pursuit of fame.
