Three Black-led organizations are joining together to present the Pride Thrive Summit, “a free, community-rooted experience centering the health, wealth and joy of queer BIPOC communities in Dallas/Fort Worth,” on Saturday, Aug. 9.
The event, a collaboration between Dee’Tox Life Coaching, Girlfriend’s Budget and Fitness Shero, will be held from 11:30 a.m.-4 p.m. at Union Coffee, 3705 Cedar Springs Road. There is no cost to attend, and the first 50 guests will receive swag bags.
Register for the event at EventBrite.com.
According to a press release announcing the event, the summit will include panels with medical and financial professionals, wellness activations, live performances and a resource fair with local vendors. With support from partners Union Coffee, HSC Fort Worth and the American Cancer Society, the summit is also able to provide access to cancer screenings, insurance education, mental health resources, budgeting tools and more, “all in an affirming, culturally relevant environment,” the press release noted.
“From energizing performances to meaningful discussions, Pride Thrive blends celebration with purpose, making wellness and financial empowerment accessible to LGBTQ+ communities of color,” the press release continued.
Dee Coleman, founder of Dee’Tox Life Coaching, said, “Pride Thrive is about more than celebration; it’s about community care and creating a space where queer BIPOC individuals can access the resources they need to thrive. We are honored to bring this vision to life in Dallas and invite everyone to join us.”
