Pride Night at the Winspear Opera House is Tuesday, Sept. 19.
The Tony Award-winning show Fun Home, based on a book by Alison Bechdel, whose cartoon “Dykes to Watch Out For” ran in Dallas Voice for years, is playing. The show starts at 7:30 p.m., but before the show is a panel discussion on the LGBT community in Dallas.
Dallas Voice writer and Lambda Weekly host David Taffet (me) is moderating the panel discussion before the show at 6 p.m. Resource Center CEO Cece Cox, Dallas Way founding member Robert Emery, Broadway producer Terry Loftis and attorney Jack Pettit are on the panel.
After the show, Fun Home hosts a Pride Night celebration.
Anyone who would just like to attend the panel discussion is welcome at no charge. Tickets for that night’s performance are still available. The show runs through Sept. 24 if you can’t make the Pride night performance. Tickets are available here.
