As June arrives, the North Texas cultural landscape gets considerably more colorful as Pride Month takes over the spotlight. A number of stages in June will reflect the resilience and diversity of the LGBTQ+ community through all types of performances.
We already know North Texas is a premier arts destination, but we do love when our queer family gets a bit more spotlight.
This June, the DFW stage lineup highlights a broad spectrum of talent, from the Pride-focused collab between Uptown Players and Bruce Wood Dance Dallas to the laugh-out-loud funny Queer Factor shows at Dallas Comedy Club. These productions, along with many others featuring queer artists both in the spotlight and behind the curtain, are gonna showcase and celebrate every color of the rainbow in our community.

This one-of-a-kind performance brings together acclaimed choreographers and some of the region’s most dynamic musicians to collaborate on brand-new works commissioned exclusively for this show. Rivals Nikola Tesla and Thomas Edison have arrived in London with their latest inventions only to have them stolen. That pulls the world’s greatest detective back into action, and at the center of it all is Professor Moriarty’s formidable daughter. Lewisville Playhouse: Rent
Don’t think about the fact that Rent is 30 years old. Think instead about how the Jonathan Larson musical has held up over the last decades as a seminal piece of queer and youth culture in the time of AIDS. Based on the opera La Boheme, the rock musical still hits deep with emotion and excitement.
