Dallas Pride moves downtown for 2026 on June 6

The DFW calendar is jam-packed with events throughout the month of June

Who says Pride should only be celebrated in June? Up until 2019, Dallas’ Pride Parade was held on the third Sunday in September on Cedar Springs Road. In 2019, Dallas Pride moved to the first Saturday in June and to Fair Park. Then in 2022, Pride in Dallas coalesced with the specific mission to hold a Pride parade on Cedar Springs in September, in addition to Dallas Pride’s annual festival and parade in Fair Park.

But can one city host two major Pride celebrations each year, each complete with its own parade? Well, this year, Dallas Pride moves its first Saturday in June celebration downtown, giving Dallas its first downtown Pride parade since the very first Dallas Pride parade way back in 1972.

This year Dallas Pride is spreading its annual festival out across four downtown parks and staging the city’s first night-time — or rather, sunset — Pride parade on Main Street.

And September Pride is expected to be as big as ever, if not bigger.

And it all starts on this, the first weekend of Pride Month 2026.

The month’s festivities begin tonight (Friday night, June 5), with Metroball 19 at S4 featuring Cheyenne Jackson, Kameron Ross and Brian Mason. (See interview the with Brian Mason on page 18.) The event, with a silent auction as well as the three entertainers, starts at 6:30 p.m., and tickets are $50 at the door.

On Saturday, the Dallas Pride Festival opens at 11 a.m. in four parks — Harwood Park, Pacific Plaza, Main Street Garden Park and Pegasus Plaza, and runs all afternoon. The Dallas Pride Sunset Parade steps off down Main Street at 7 p.m. Should be the coolest parade ever held in Dallas.
Two more big Pride events follow quickly:

Pride in Bloom takes place at the Dallas Arboretum next weekend, June 12, followed the next week by Pride Block Party in the Arts District.

For Pride in Bloom on June 13, the Arboretum offers two experiences, from afternoon blooms to a nighttime celebration, filling the garden with live music, artisan vendors, and activities that showcase the diversity and beauty of the community. Daytime Pride features a vendor market and performances by Oak Lawn Band and pianist Sydney Barber. Twilight Pride includes a Classic Chassis Car Display and a performance by Sam Cormier and by George Michael Reborn, followed by the DJ Dezi Dance Party. Get the complete schedule at DallasArboretum.org.

The Dallas Arboretum hosts Pride in Bloom on June 13.

The following Friday, June 19, Pride takes over the Arts District with the Pride Block Party, a free, community-wide event from 6 p.m. to midnight, spans across Flora Street, the Dallas Museum of Art, the Nasher Sculpture Center and the Crow Museum of Asian Art, with each museum offering a different slate of entertainment. That includes events like movies, performances and music as well as exhibits. Performances include Uptown Players, Bruce Wood Dance, Mi Diva Loca, Dezi 5 and Round-Up Saloon House Dancers.

The Turtle Creek Chorale started Pride Month early, kicking off its Pride as Big as Texas at Temple Emanu-El on May 31, then heading over to the Meyerson on June 1. The tour continues at First Presbyterian Church in Tyler on June 20 and at Broadway Baptist Church in Fort Worth on June 26.

And speaking of Tyler, their Pride festival is on June 20.

Dallas Southern Pride stages the largest Juneteenth celebration in the country. The weekend begins on Thursday, June 18 and runs through Sunday, June 21 with a farewell brunch.
