southsideonlamarA man who attacked Dallas police headquarters overnight is dead. Several additional bombs around the building in the Cedars neighborhood were diffused. Residents of the massive Southside on Lamar were allowed back into their apartments about 8 a.m.
Dallas Morning News has complete coverage.
Quite a few people from the LGBT community live in Southside on Lamar across the street from police headquarters.
Carrie Noess is a resident. She said police evacuated residents whose apartments face the police headquarters to the side street and basement during the night. Noess lives in the back of the building. Evacuation from her side of the building was voluntary, but she decided it was better to leave in case additional bombs were found.
Noess said she didn’t hear the shooting, but once outside on the side street, they heard the bomb blasts.
Police allowed residents back into the building about 8 a.m. this morning (Saturday, June 13) but as of 2 p.m., residents still couldn’t get their cars out of the garage because Lamar Street remains closed.

DART stopped running from 8th nd Corinth Station to Union Station this morning. All stations on the red and blue lines are back up and running, but Cedars Station is inaccessible to residents of Southside on Lamar unless they walk several blocks south to Cadiz Street.
Although CNN is reporting no injuries, Noess said she heard police talking about one person inside police headquarters hit by flying glass.
