Last weekend’s concert calendar was so eclipsed by Britney that Pink and Taylor Swift seem to be sneaking into town within days of each other. Pink and The Ting Tings got their party started last night at the American Airlines Center and thankfully, office mate Ramon made it out there and gave me his take on the show.
Ok, is it me or am I just a concert whore this week? Last night P!nk came tot the ACC and it was amazing! The Ting Tings opened up for her, and don’t get me wrong, they were good, but really didn’t do anything for me. When P!nk came on, it was just as I expected it, very energetic. I was very impressed with her set list. Most of the songs were from Funhouse and I’m Not Dead. Of course my personal favorite was “U + Ur Hand!” Loved it! She did several covers that were really cool! She sang “I Touch Myself” donning lace leggings and lace top, and lied on a chaise lounge with holes in it where hands caressed her body. I have got to get me one of those couches!
She did a cover of Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody”, Gnarls Barkley’s “Crazy” and Led Zeppelin’s “Babe, I’m Gonna Leave You.”
The highlight of the night was when she performed “Dear Mr. President,” the crowd went wild, and I kind of got chills! The last song was “Glitter,” which she performed in the air. Toward the end she dunked herself in water. It was crazy cool! Unfortunately, she did not do the act from the VMA’s for the song “Sober” because she had injured her shoulder about a week ago.
I had a really great time and I am way jealous that P!nk is in better shape than me!
And there you have it. Ramon is currently figuring out a way to go to Taylor Swift tomorrow.
