Say hello to Alba, a 10-year-old retriever mix with a heart as warm as a sunny afternoon. At 37 pounds, she’s the perfect size for a cozy companion. She enjoys the simple pleasures: a quiet afternoon nap, a few gentle ear scratches and, of course, a tasty treat or two. Alba is currently stabilizing her thyroid, healing from a hip procedure and waiting for a dental tune-up with the wonderful SPCA of Texas medical team taking great care of her. What she really needs now is a soft bed, a loving home, and someone kind to keep her company through her healing journey. If you’ve ever dreamed of making a difference in a dog’s life, fostering Alba is the perfect way to do it. She’s looking for a friend to offer her peace, patience and love while she regains her sparkle. Alba is available for foster or foster-to-adopt. Email Foster@spca.org to learn more.

Come meet Alba today at the Dallas Animal Care Center, 2400 Lone Star Drive, open from noon-6 p.m. seven days a week! Like all pets from the SPCA of Texas, Alba has been spayed and microchipped and is up to date on all her necessary vaccinations. And Alba qualifies for the Seniors for Seniors program, where anyone age 60 and older can adopt a pet age 6 and older for free.
