Meet William, a domestic shorthair mix just over 3 years old. He has fiery-striped orange hair and weighs in at 13 pounds. William came into the care of the SPCA of Texas in May from the community cat program. However, it was discovered he is exceptionally affectionate with humans, and he would actually love to be in a forever home. Due to his background, William can come off as extremely shy on first meeting, but that can change rather quickly. Once he has warmed up to someone, he can become a rubbing, purring and soft head-butting machine (treats help this little process along nicely). William is an FIV-positive cat, which is a manageable condition. He would need to be the only cat or paired with another FIV cat in a home.

The Jan-Rees Jones Animal Care Center is open to the public seven days a week, noon-6 p.m. Appointments are required for foster animals. Browse available animals at SPCA.org/FindAPet; visit SPCA.org/DogAdopt to inquire about a dog or SPCA.org/CatAdopt to inquire about a cat.
