On Thursday, Dec. 15, members of the Dallas Tavern Guild, their staff and friends gathered at S-4 to assemble and deliver 1,000 gift bags to seven different locations across Dallas to AIDS/HIV agencies. The Paul Lewis Holiday Gift Project continues a tradition started by the late Paul Lewis and has continued for decades.
The gift bags, filled with fresh fruit, candy, crackers, chips, juice boxes, a stuffed toy and a thank-you letter were assembled, packed and delivered with the personal love and enthusiasm of all of those who showed up to make the event an annual success.
Clients and patient care facilities that were served this year included, AIDS Services’ Hillcrest House and Spencer Gardens; Parkland Hospital’s AIDS/HIV care wing; AIDS Arms, Legacy Counseling, AIDS Interfaith and the Resource Center’s Food Pantry. We want to thank everyone who showed up to participate in the project and to the member clubs and sponsors who contributed to fund this important project that has been around since 1984.
