Today’s National Park Service online public discussion about relevancy, diversity and inclusion in the workplace and among national park visitors was short on specifics. Though the panel mentioned their involvement with various constituency groups, including the LGB T community, the panelists didn’t answer Tammye’s question directly.

National Park Service Director Jonathan B. Jarvis, Associate Director for Relevancy, Diversity and Inclusion Michael Reynolds and San Francisco State University Professor Nina Roberts will be hosting an online public discussion about relevancy, diversity and inclusion in the workplace and among national park visitors, from 2-3 p.m. CST on Wednesday, Nov. 5.
Jarvis and the others want “to hear from and respond to the public and stakeholders about what the agency is doing to reach new audiences and build relevance and diversity in the workforce.” The press release says nothing about whether that diversity and inclusion extends to the LGBT community. But I did take advantage of the opportunity for members of the media to submit a question in advance via email to ask whether LGBTs are included.
