Organizers of the OUT TAKES Dallas gay film fest just announced that they are putting the festival off for now. It was originally scheduled for Oct 9-12. According to a press release, some festival departments are struggling to complete their tasks.
On Saturday’s GayBINGO, OUT TAKES hauled in the second largest pot for the 50/50 raffle. But at Sunday’s Alan Ross Texas Freedom Parade, the OUT TAKES float entry was canceled due to lack of volunteers.

Y’ALL CAN STILL HELP!

On Saturday, Sept. 27, there’s a Volunteer Round Up at the  Resource Center of Dallas from noon to 3 p.m.  and at JR’s Bar & Grill, from 5  p.m. to 7 p.m.
OUT TAKES foundation president Phillip Archer says, “Our volunteer round up has always been a huge success.  Our focus this time will be to fill slots in our festival organization that are critical to achieving our goals – as opposed to looking for people to actually work taking tickets and ushering at the films.”
