Alan Baughn Colvin, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 30. Born in Dallas on Feb. 15, 1952, Alan was a lifelong resident of the city he loved.

Alan will be remembered for his infectious smile, quick wit and active role in many social organizations. He was a longtime member of the Gamma Mu social fraternity and a former president of the Airliner Social Club. Additionally, he was a founder and past president of the Classic Chassis Car Club of Dallas, as well as a past president of the Oak Lawn Bowling Association. Alan also dedicated his time to numerous other local organizations and charities.
He was a graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington, and, professionally, Alan owned and operated Hoffman Florist for many years.
Alan and his husband, Jack Lewis, were avid travelers who shared a special fondness for their second home in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. This past December, they celebrated their 50th anniversary surrounded by many dear friends. Throughout his life, Alan enjoyed collecting classic automobiles and was a lifelong lover of miniature schnauzers.
Alan was preceded in death by his parents, William and Oleta Colvin, and his brother, Steven. He is survived by his husband, Jack Lewis, and his beloved dog, Max. Interment will be at Sparkman/Hillcrest Memorial Park. A celebration of Alan’s life will be planned for a later date.
