Eliseo “Eli” Bondoc, born May 27, 1986 in Laredo, passed away Oct. 9, 2025 in Arlington. Eliseo was a modest and tender soul who spent most of his life in service to others. He served in the Navy, and, after leaving the armed forces, he made his career in non-profit work as an advocate for homeless veterans, people living with HIV and other vulnerable populations.
Eliseo loved to learn about other cultures and about new ways to experience the world. A polyglot himself, he enjoyed studying other languages and especially loved music from all over the world. He always spoke fondly about his time in the Navy, traveling the world and soaking in new cultures.
He cared deeply about his communities, and he was generous with his time, a good listener and a patient friend. Eliseo spent many hours together with his friends playing video games or watching TV. He always had others pick the next movie or video game, even when it was his turn. He loved his cat, early 2000’s pop girl music and his friends. He gave so much to the world but asked for so little in return.
He is survived by numerous family and friends who loved him dearly.
Visitation was held on Monday, Oct. 20, at the Joe Jackson North Funeral & Cremation Services in Laredo, followed by funeral services with military honors. He is interred at the Laredo Cemetery, 3200 N Meadow Ave. in Laredo.
