During its 2025 Southern Regional Convening held in Dallas last week, the National Queer Asian Pacific Islander Alliance announced the launch of its Good Trouble Mini-Grant. The new initiative is designed to uplift and support grassroots organizations serving LGBTQ Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander communities across the U.S. South.
NQAPIA will award grants of up to $1,000 to support events and activities that build community power, promote advocacy and foster healing, organizing, and mobilization. Funded activities may include leadership workshops, community gatherings, healing spaces, educational forums and other initiatives aligned with advancing LGBTQ AANHPI communities.
Applications for the grants will be accepted through April 30. The funded events must take place between June 1 and Aug. 31.
Eligibility Requirements:
● Applicants must be grassroots organizations or community groups explicitly serving LGBTQ+ AANHPI communities in the U.S. South.
● Funded activities must demonstrate a clear impact on community power-building, civic engagement, or healing.
“We know that Southern grassroots organizations are under-resourced yet vital to our collective liberation,” said Reggie Gravely, NQAPIA director of advocacy and organizing. “This mini-grant program is designed to be low-barrier, intentional, and rooted in trust — supporting groups doing transformative work across the South.”
