The National Queer Asian Pacific Islander Alliance holds its Southern Regional Convening in Dallas this week from Wednesday, March 26 to Saturday, March 29. The gathering brings together LGBTQ Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander organizers, activists, community leaders and allies from across the South for movement building, skills sharing, coalition strengthening and celebration.

Interactive workshops, panel discussions and storytelling spaces highlight the lived experiences and grassroots work of queer AANHPI folks across the South.

“Dallas is a vibrant, growing hub for queer AANHPI activism, and we’re thrilled to bring this gathering here,” said Frederick Tran, NQAPIA’s Dallas-based communications and development manager “This convening will uplift the work that Southern organizers are doing on the ground, connect leaders across state lines, and center the joy and resilience of our communities.”

Highlights of the convening include a welcome mixer at the Dallas Asian American Historical Society, workshops on coalition building, trans justice, immigration rights and organizing against conservative legislation. There will be a community reception at the Rose Room with a performance by Mulan Alexander.
