Keath Ósk(they/it), the artist behind Yaelokre, shared its debut single “And the Hound,” available now via Atlantic Records, on Thursday. The new tracks heralds Ósk’s debut album, Foreword, set to arrive everywhere on Sept. 4. Ósk has re-recorded songs originally released under Yaelokre, using its real name and identity.
“‘And The Hound’ has always been my favorite out of all of the songs that I released as Yaelokre,” Keath said in today’s announcement. “I just kept adding more and more into it. I added more lyrics to it, I kept singing it differently every single time and I expanded it from that. It helped me a lot to stay creative, and I felt the need to honor it in this way.”
Ósk will embark on a headlining tour in Europe after the album’s release. It will begin its North American leg in November with a Dallas stop on Dec. 19 at Echo Lounge & Music Hall.
