Sen. Mary Pilcher-Cook

Kansas state Sen. Mary Pilcher-Cook has introduced a bill to arrest and prosecute teachers and librarians who give children books that are “deemed harmful to minors,” according to Courthouse News Service. She also wants to punish sex-ed teachers for teaching students about … sex.
“Harmful material” includes any depiction of nudity, sexual conduct, homosexuality, sexual excitement or sadomasochistic abuse “in a manner that is patently offensive to prevailing standards in the community with respect to what is suitable for minors.”
Teachers could face up to six months in jail.
Who would compile the list? The bill doesn’t say, but some of the books recently listed on the American Library Association’s challenged book list are To Kill A Mockingbird, The Color Purple, The Hunger Games and Brave New World.
