AIDS Services Dallas, which is rehabbing a property near its other Oak Cliff units, is another LGBT/HIV/AIDS organization that received funds from Ministry with the Aging, Inc. (David Taffet/Dallas Voice)

In this week’s newspaper, we reported Ministry with the Aging, Inc., a mission of the Dallas Episcopal Church, donated $30,000 to the Coalition for Aging LGBT and $50,000 for Resource Center’s Grey Pride program.

In all, the Ministry made contributions to nine organizations from liquidation of a property in East Dallas. Charles Mullins, a board member speaking for the group, in a quick phone interview just before press time, couldn’t remember the names of all of the groups that received funding.

Over the weekend, AIDS Services Dallas Director of Development and Public Relations Chris Turman sent Dallas Voice a note that on Dec. 31, Mullins stopped by his office and delivered a check for $50,000. ASD runs housing for people living with HIV/AIDS. Its five properties, which include a newly acquired apartment complex within blocks of its other units, are located in North Oak Cliff.

Including the ASD donation, Ministry with the Aging, Inc.’s donations to local LGBT and HIV/AIDS organizations total $130,000.
