So far there doesn’t seem to be much LGBT-related news coming out of the Republican National Convention in Minneapolis/St. Paul. Of course, with Hurricane Gustav causing the GOP to follow a much-abbreviated schedule on the first day of the convention, and news of V.P.-pick Sarah Palin’s 17-year-old unmarried daughter’s pregnancy, there’s not much room left for LGBT stuff.
I was looking online to see if I could find any gay stuff happening at the convention, and I found this site, theunconvention.com. I am not sure, really what it’s all about, but one thing they did was produce a series of videos and posters urging those in the Twin Cities to be good hosts to the visiting Republican officials and delegates. Here’s what the Web site says:
Make An Effort is a campaign for The UnConvention designed by Campbell Mithun to encourage Twin Cities residents to find their own unconventional ways to welcome the visitors who will be arriving for the Republican National Convention. The campaign does not ignore the undeniable irony of the Republicans’ choice to hold the convention here in Minnesota, and the entire tone of the campaign captures the unique brand of intelligent, rewarding creativity that Minnesota is justifiably world famous for.”
Go here to check out their videos and posters, all including the tagline “The Republicans are coming. Make an effort.” Then let me know what you think.реклама в метрополитене спбподбор ключевых слов гугл
