The city of Dallas raised the Disability Pride Flag this morning on the plaza outside Dallas City Hall. Unfortunately, the flag got caught in the mechanism that releases the flag on the flag pole and wouldn’t unfurl.
The event highlighted the meaning of disability pride, the powerful symposium of the Disability Pride Flag, and reinforces the city of Dallas’ commitment to advancing equal access under the Americans with Disabilities Act.
The flag will fly over Dallas City Hall for the rest of the month. In the future, the Disability Pride Flag will fly over the plaza for the entire month of July. The Dallas LGBTQ+ Pride Flag flies over city facilities during the month of June.
