Terry Loftis

Officials at Resource Center announced today (Tuesday, Nov. 3) that Terry D. Loftis has been appointed chair of the Center’s capital campaign steering committee. Loftis, who will oversee the final phase of the capital campaign, replaces Gary Olsen, who served as chair of the committee during phase 2.
Resource Center will host a reception in honor of Loftis, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18, at The Ashton, 2215 Cedar Springs Road. Contact Dean S. Wilson at dwilson@myresourcecenter.org for more information and to R.S.V.P.
The Center has raised $7.5 million, or 86 percent of the total needed. Loftis’ job is to bring in the remaining $1.2 million necessary. The campaign is scheduled to wind up in December next year.
Cameron Hernholm, the Center’s chief development officer, said Loftis’ “past leadership and involvement with Resource Center will be a valuable asset as we near the end of the campaign. His perspective, knowledge and community outreach will help further sustain the Center’s mission and reach in North Texas.”
Center officials said that the facility on Reagan Street at Brown already functions “beyond capacity.” The new community center, under construction near the intersection of Cedar Springs and Inwood roads, is designed to accommodate the current and future LGBT-focused programs. The current office and community space will be remodeled to consolidate HIV services, nutrition services and the food pantry.
Loftis is president of Dallas-based Eisenberg & Associates marketing communications agency. He is a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School for the Visual and Performing Arts, an entertainment producer and a jazz vocalist.  He was a producer of the 2015 Broadway musical, The Visit, which earned five Tony Award nominations, and also worked on production for the NBC hit show, The Voice. Currently, Loftis is a producer on Let’s Go, DFW, a new entertainment/lifestyle-focused television show that launched earlier this year on CBS-11.
Loftis served on the campaign steering committee chair prior to being named chair, and is a former Resource Center board president of Resource Center.
