RCD adds board members

Gary Fraundorfer, David Hardt, John McDowell, Deborah McMurray and Ray Switzer have been named to the board of directors for Resource Center Dallas.
Fraundorfer is a vice president, human resources for Dallas-based AT&T.

Hardt is the chief financial for Borders Frame, and has been with the company since 1999. He is the former national president and chairman of the board of the Young Democrats America.

McDowell is a partner with Andrews Kurth in Dallas, focusing on patent litigation, intellectual property and technology law.

McMurray is the chief executive officer and strategy architect for Content Pilot LLC, which she founded in 2006 to provide strategic marketing and technology solutions to professional services firms.

Switzer has been with Pepsico in a variety of corporate financial and human resources roles since 1994.

Resource Center also adopted a new mission statement that reads: “Resource Center Dallas is a trusted leader that empowers the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) communities and all people affected by HIV through improving health and wellness, strengthening families and communities and providing transformative education and advocacy.”

Jacobs named TCC interim director

Ira M. (Trey) Jacobs III has been chosen by the Turtle Creek Chorale to be Interim Conductor for the 2011-12 season.

For the last four years Jacobs has served as assistant professor and director of choral activities at Eastern Michigan University, until his recent move to live with his partner, Thomas Locke, in Mobile, Ala. Jacobs is currently the music director for the Mobile Theater Guild’s production of The Drowsy Chaperone.

He will commute from his home weekly to work with the Chorale.

Jacobs’ predecessor, Jonathan Palant, resigned in July. TCC board members Justin Lombardo and Doug Mitchell are co-chairing the search committee to find a permanent conductor.

The first open rehearsal for Chorale members is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 23, at 7 p.m. New member auditions will be held Sunday, Aug. 28, from 3 to 6 p.m. The 2011-12 season kicks off on Sunday, Oct. 23 with The Messiah.

Resounding Harmony auditions

Resounding Harmony begins its new season with rehearsals on Sunday, Aug. 21 and auditions on Aug. 22 at Oak Lawn United Methodist Church, 3014 Oak Lawn Ave. at 6 p.m. Information is online at ResoundingHarmony.org.
