Lehmkuhl headling Mad Hatter party
The Mad Hatter Garden Party benefiting Lambda Legal Defense and Education Fund will be held Sunday, April 27, and will feature celebrity host and TV reality star Reichen Lehmkuhl along with a celebrity hat auction.

The event will be held at a private home. Admission is a suggested donation of $50.

Democratic Women meet in Collin County
The Texas Democratic Women of Collin County will meet Monday April 28, 6:45 p.m. at Collin College Preston Ridge Campus, 9700 Wade Blvd., in Frisco — Founders Hall, Shawnee Room F148.

The group will continue its endorsement process at this meeting. Surveys have been sent and answers will be posted on the Web site. Candidates have been invited to speak with the group, and following the question-and-answer session, members will vote on which candidates the group should endorse.

Valiente holding Spring Mixer
Valiente will hold its Spring Mixer Thursday, May 1, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Rush, formerly the Rocket Bar, at 3903 Lemmon Ave.

The bar will offer $1 draft beer and $2 well drinks for the event.

Chef Invasion features Smith-Malave
Chef Invasion Dallas, an event featuring celebrity chefs and a silent auction, will be held Thursday, May 8, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at a private home in Dallas.

The event is presented by Absolut Vodka and benefits the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation.

Tickets are $250 for patron VIPs, $100 for VIPs and $75 for general admission. VIP ticketholders will receive gift bags and be entered into drawings for prizes.

Featured chef will be Chef Josie Smith-Malave from season two of Bravo TV’s "Top Chef." Chef Josie most recently worked with the 240 seat, bi-level Island Restaurant & Lounge in Long Island City, Queens, featuring seasonal Mediterranean cuisine.

Garage sale to benefit LifeWalk
The Guys and Dolls AIDS LifeWalk team will hold its annual garage sale May 9-10, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 3975 Boca Bay Drive in Dallas.

All proceeds from the sale benefit AIDS Arms’ 2008 LifeWalk and Guys and Dolls are accepting donations for the sale.
