Kenneth Michael Opiela

Kenneth Michael Opiela, 41, died at his home in Dallas on April 11 following a long battle with cancer. Opiela was born Dec. 1, 1966, to John and Diana Opiela. He graduated from Robert Morris College in Pittsburg, Penn., with an associate’s degree in accounting and was in the process of completing his bachelor’s degree at the University of Arizona at the time of his death. He had worked as a flight attendant for American Airlines for the last 18 years.

He is survived by his brother Gary Opiela; his nephew Ian Opiela; and his niece Taryn Opiela.

A rosary service will be held at Sparkman-Hillcrest Funeral Home, 6404 W. Northwest Highway, from 5 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Friday, May 25, followed by visitation until 8 p.m. A mass will be held at Sparkman-Hillcrest at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 26.
