Thursday will mark 11 months since Dallas lesbian Lisa Stone’s unsolved disappearance. On Saturday at 9 p.m. Central time, CBS’ 48 Hours Mystery will air an hourlong episode about the case.
The 48 Hours episode, called “The Facebook Detectives,” will focus on Stone’s friends use of the social media site to keep the search for her alive. Watch a promo for the episode below.
The episode also includes an interview with Stone’s former partner, Sherry Henry, who is the only “person of interest” in her disappearance. Dallas police have long believed the then-52-year-old Stone met with foul play, but say they don’t have enough evidence to make an arrest.
Sgt. Eugene Reyes, of DPD’s special investigations unit, told Instant Tea today that he was surprised to hear about Henry’s interview with 48 Hours, given that she hasn’t been talking to other media or cooperating with police.
“We have nothing new, and some of the DNA tests that we were waiting for just didn’t pan out, so we’re back to square one with only one person of interest,” Reyes said. “Everything’s circumstantial. There are plenty of pointed fingers, but it’s not going to be enough to get a conviction. … Some of these cases go on forever and ever.”
Reyes said he hopes the 48 Hours episode leads to a break in the case, but he isn’t counting on it. The show’s producers have told him not to expect any major revelations, and he noted that a billboard advertising a $10,000 reward for information about Stone’s disappearance generated zero tips.
But Stone’s friends remain optimistic.
“We will find answers and justice for Lisa soon!” Tina Wiley declared on her Facebook page today, after announcing that she’s canceled her birthday plans so she can fly to New York this weekend.
Wiley said after the 48 Hours broadcast, she’ll appear on CBS’ Early Show this coming Monday. But first, Wiley will appear on the the Channel 11 News, at 10 o’clock tonight.
Is there a reason why you have to bring her sexual persuasion into play? What the hell does that have to do with her being a human, or did you just want to cheapen and sensationalize things for all the prejudiced folk out there?
Obviously you’re not a member of the community as indicated by your use of the insulting term “persuasion.” But for those of your persuasion who have not followed the story but read gay and lesbian newspapers, the disappearance is important to the LGBT community because she was a member of the community and the only suspect in her disappearance and assumed murder is her partner and therefore an important part of the story.
And when we use the term lesbian or gay or transgender or bisexual to describe someone, we mean it as a compliment. We rarely label someone as heterosexual because … well … why point out their flaws.
I have to agree, her sexual preference is pertinent to the case because her ex-lover is a person of interest. There is a lot of spousal abuse in the GLBTQQIA community and this case certainly shone a light on it. Ms. Stone’s ex has certainly painted herself negatively by not being forthcoming in an ongoing murder investigation. I have been fully cooperative anytime I have encountered a police officer. It is a shame not everybody feels the same…
Last april or may I was in Irvining TX attending a class at my company’s training facilities. One evening I went to Madilens Bakery in Dallas off North West Highway. When I was leaving the starbucks next door to the bakery a women came to my drivers side door and asked me for money to take the bus to Irving. I gave her five dollars and she ask me for a ride I said I was going to Irving later so I could not give her a ride. I remember thinking how sad that was a pretty well dressed and nice blond hair begging for money. On my way back past the starbucks I look to see if I could give her a ride but she was gone. I believe it was Lisa Stone after seeing her pictures on cbs news. Another impression I had was I thought she may have a mental disability because she looked so normal but was begging for money.
I agree-why does her sexual preference have anything to do with finding her? Yes, her partner is a person of interest, but that doesn’t mean that “lesbian” had to be so prominent in your headline. I think that it’s disgusting how prominently you used the word, like it has bearing on whether she’s found or not. I think that the writer of this article should print a retraction, and offer an apology to her family and friends, for making her sexual orientation such a big deal.
Dear Holly: The tone of your comment leads me to believe you think calling someone a lesbian is an insult. We here at Dallas Voice could not disagree more. See, this is the LGBT — lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender — news media outlet for North Texas. We cover stories specifically because they relate somehow to the LGBT community. If you have a problem with that, please take your homophobia elsewhere.
Dear Tammye-Where do you get that I am homophobic? Because you couldn’t be more wrong. I was just stating that it should not be as big a deal as it’s being made out to be in this article. Out of all the articles I’ve read, this was the only one that jumped out making a big deal about her sexual preference. I’m not the only one that had a problem with this-look at the top comment by Patsy O’Brien. Like she said, there are those out there that will read this and be prejudiced against her-some people are just jerks like that. I am NOT one of them.
i do wish her friends and family all the luck in finding her.
I saw the episode tonight it touched me so that Lisa has such good friends I pray answers come out of this. It is so sad that her partner of 15 yes showed no care at all I hope they find her guilty quick . Facebook detectives please forward your link to me I can not find you on Facebook

Sherry has sankapu eyes (floating irises) sometimes present in psychopaths. She certainly is comfortable lying rather agressively. Sexual persuasion is relevant because if the police had suspected spousal homicide in an opposite sex marriage, they would not have turned a blind eye for so long on a missing person case. They didn’t seem to want to get involved in a female “roommate” or lesbian situation where one simply said the other was out of town.
Since the author of this article use the term “Dallas lesbian” most people leaving comments went off the subject. Lucky for Sherry. Bad luck for Lisa! Maybe we could of gotton useful comments. Instead it’s focus is on gay and lesbians…..
