Foundation Board Chair Gary Sanchez said, “Since 2011, the LGBTQ Chamber of Commerce Foundation has awarded nearly $300,000 in scholarships to support the educational aspirations of our community. We aim to empower our scholars to complete their education and emerge as the business and community leaders of tomorrow.

“These investments are shaping the future of Texas’ LGBTQ+ community,” Sanchez added.

The foundation manages both general scholarship funds and specialized funds, including: Film & Television/Performing Arts Scholarship, S.T.E.M. Scholarship, Rob Ruhlin Law Scholarship, Veronica Marcum Nursing Scholarship; United Court of the Lone Star Empire Scholarship and the Coalition for Aging LGBT Scholarship.

The LGBTQ Chamber of Commerce Foundation, established by the North Texas LGBTQ Chamber of Commerce, focuses on developing leadership within the LGBTQ community, overseeing initiatives such as the nine-month-long LGBTQ Leadership Institute designed to enhance knowledge of LGBTQ history and the equality movement, both locally and nationally. This program is the only one of its kind in the United States.
