Caven comes through, again

At Christmas, when the Oak Lawn Library held a party for neighborhood children, Caven Enterprises gave astonishing amounts of fruit, juice, gifts and goodies — two long tables-full — enough so that each child got far more than one of everything.

This morning, to make an early start with my begging bowl, I wrote to ask if Caven would consider donating a box of crayons, a pencil and separate eraser or a notepad for our back-to-school program. Caven responded immediately and has already ordered all the items I mentioned, and more!

As a library volunteer and a Stonewall Democrat, I want to say thanks again, Caven, and to remind Dallas Voice readers of the generosity of our community’s merchants. •
