Dallas police liaison to the LGBT community, Laura Martin, remains in that position, but her daily patrol has moved. Martin said that officers bid annually for assignments. She has been on bike patrol at White Rock Lake. Her new assignment is in the Central Business District. The move brings her Downtown in time to help welcome 2,000 visitors to the Creating Change conference that comes to the Sheraton Dallas Hotel this week.
