Note to Dallas Fire-Rescue: If Lady Gaga tries to visit the Cedar Springs strip again Friday night after her show, please don’t run her off! There are four lanes. Is it really that big a deal if her limo is blocking one?
Round-Up Saloon co-owner Alan Pierce reports that Gaga planned to come to the bar — where she performed two years ago and which she mentioned during her show at the AAC on Thursday — but was turned away by an issue involving her limo and a fire truck. What? Surely she’ll be back tonight, right? If not DFR may have some serious explaining to do to the gays. Here’s what Pierce said:
If you attended the show you know the great PR the Round Up received last night, as well as the “after party” held at The Round Up! GaGa did come by and was going to come in until issues with a fire truck as her limo was blocking a lane on Cedar Springs … finally had to move on to W Hotel. Anyway, we are inundated with e-mails, Facebook postings, and calls about the GaGa praise of Round Up! Channel 11 came for in interview this morning. Check the 4:00 news.

Can she park her limo someplace other than in the traffic lanes of a street? Especially one block from a fire station? Any place? Not even in the Round-Up parking lot? or someplace on Reagan or Throckmorton? No where between the RU and the W Hotel? The limo couldn’t legally stop like a cab at an intersection and let her out? If she can’t park where she isn’t blocking a fire truck she chooses to not attend a planned appearance? If the RU knew she was coming they didn’t arrange with the police to accommodate her limo? This article gives the impression she is self centered and the RU is looking for someone to blame for their lack of planning. True? I’m gay and I don’t think her wish to park in a fire lane is more important than permitting a fire truck reach a possible emergency, especially in a building that burned years ago.
If she had fire shooting from her bra, like in the picture above, it wasn’t her limo’s parking spot that was the problem with letting her inside the Round-Up.

Yes, it’s a big deal to block a fire truck from reaching a possible emergency.

Limos, taxis and cars drive up and idle while their passengers get out. The limo then drives elsewhere. The limo later returns and idle while their passengers get in.
Businesses wanting a limo to park at their door reserve a place for them in the parking area in front, on the side or in their parking lot.
The fire department protects the public’s safety and we depend on them to do that.
Lady GaGa is intelligent and so is Alan Pierce but his blaming the fire department for her no show is puzzling and poor PR for the Round-Up.
Lady GaGa returned to the Round-Up Friday night. She was incredible and the experience unforgettable. Her little monsters were in love with her and for a good reason. She’s genuine.
OK OK first was it Dallas fire rescue or DPD that made them move / not block a lane. I would think it was the DPD who just thought it was some Oaklawn “queen” and if the limo was in front of the Round up, in a lane, they were with in the law. That is called “standing” as long as there is a driver at the limo, and able to move it if need be it is OK. I know that it will be ok people, cars stop ALL THE TIME and let people out, the strip, mall,movies, and lower greenville, but it is OK at other locations. But on the strip, I am sure it was a DPD working overtime just looking for anything to bitch about.
