Not since Britney’s show last September have the gays been buzzing like this. Lady Gaga’s Monster Ball tour is now just four days away — or three days and some hours for the diehards. While gals are curling their hair with beer cans and boys are bedazzling their American Apparel tees (which would be at least one of my colleagues here who shall remain nameless), I thought I’d share some Gaga tidbits leading up to the concerts. So call up “Alejandro” and get your “Poker Face” on, because we’re making way for Gaga.
Perhaps our favorite Gaga nugget is her appearance at, of all places, the Round-Up Saloon. Clearly before the phenomenon, she was just another female singer with a dance song — and most likely a remix EP. I remember when this happened (I wasn’t there, however) and wondered if she accidentally showed up at the wrong club. Surely, she meant to stop at S4 or even Havana, but alas, it was the country and western bar.

No, Lady GaGa didn’t make a mistake. She was going to be in town at another gig at a club in Deep Elm. While she was here she asked if she could perform at the Round-Up Saloon a week or so before she performed here. From what was said she was turned down by S-4 to perform because she was an unknown. We didn’t know who she was either was willing to give a shot. So she came to the Round-Up Saloon FIRST before she went to her gig in Deep Elm. This was on her Nation wide promo tour Before she started catching on. It was not until a month later that she came back to Station 4 to perform. We gave her 15 minutes on a Saturday night to perform during our dance hour. That is where the video came from. We are so happy that she has become as famous as she has in short time. We wish that when she is in town she would drop by just to say “Hi’. She put on a two or three song performance for free back two years ago. At ticket prices going for this weeks concert we wouldn’t have even come close to what she gets paid now. But she is more than welcome to come back and visit us any time.
