Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis
Rowan County, Ky. County Clerk Kim Davis and her attorney Mat Staver from Liberty Council will attend President Barack Obama’s final State of the Union Address tonight, Jan. 12.
Each senator and representative may invite one guest. It’s not clear who invited Davis and Staver.
Davis was jailed for five days after refusing to issue or allow anyone else in her office to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples after the Obergefell marriage equality decision. Opponents of the Affordable Care Act will also be in the gallery.
Also attending is Jim Obergefell. He will be sitting in the First Lady’s box with about 20 other guests.
