Karl Rove destroys his marriage
The architect of George Bush’s march to the White House and the man who engineered anti-gay marriage amendments in the name of “saving” marriage has gotten divorced.
Again. Yes. His second.
In the announcement, his spokesperson asked for privacy.
Really?
He thinks his marriage is a private matter that the press shouldn’t exploit? He thinks we should keep our noses out of it because a marriage or in this case a divorce — is a private matter? Blow it out your bigoted ear Karl.
This disgusting piece of crap is the person responsible for all of that “marriage hasn’t changed since Biblical times” and “the sanctity of marriage that gay people are trying to destroy” garbage. Something he made up to scare people. To get right wing extremists, bigots and just plain dumb people to the polls. And it worked.
By the way, what makes his exploitation of gays and lesbians so heinous is that he was raised by his two gay dads. And, apparently, he wasn’t rebelling against them. He was close to them.
But now he’s divorced. The judge should never have granted the divorce. He should have told him that in Biblical times, a divorce could only be granted by a religious panel and that there was no such thing as an “amiable” divorce. And he’d like privacy.
Good post.
Onward to equality, Joe Mustich, Justice of the Peace,
Washington, Connecticut, USA.
I could care less whether hypocrite Karl gets divorced once, twice or a dozen times.
What I find amazing is that Rove had two Dads. He sold his soul to the devil and turned his back on his parents? Amazing.
She must have voted for Obama.
He must have found out that she voted for Obama.
He got to where he was in life by the support of his two fathers? Yep. He would do or say anything to sway people’s votes the direction he wants them to go.
It seems there is at least one smart Republican in the Republican party… She divorced the idiot and proved that she is the smartest one there. Too bad the idiot party has not woken up to the same facts.
A living hell on earth. That’s what being married to Karl Rove must have been like. I would vomit just being close enough to smell him. The urge to beat him within an inch of his life would be too much.
David Taffet, I tip my hat to someone who hates the bigoted Bush clan as much as i do. That these Cretans have ruled the nation since the Kennedy murders in the 60s. It seems that even criminals grow bigger in Texas. I have to wonder how they expect to use all that money they ENRONed from the rest of us under the rule of the right when their Oil income leads to our own extinction? Oh, I forget, there are no mental giants in that end of the world. They are far to self absorbed to comprehend the complexity of the natural world when all they have to do is pray ( or is that prey) on the rest of us!
If you are going to publish trash like this, at least get your facts straight.
Karl Rove’s biological Father left when he was very young. Karl was raised by his Stepfather and his Mother. It was not until 1969 that his Stepfather divorced his mother and left for another man. Karl was entering College that year.
So, this crap about him being raised by two dads is just that, crap.
Check your facts before you publish trash.
“he was raised by his two gay dads” and his second divorce. If this was from a Republican, I’d think it was Fox-spin. But nope. Rove has raised the bar on Hypocrisy.
Check: You’re right. Louis, who raised Karl, was indeed a STEP father with whom Karl remained close until his death in 2004.
I’m sure that distinction is very important to bigots who want to stick their noses into everyone else’s families.
What hateful comments above. They reflect the author’s in the same light as the person/person’s they hate so much.
This is a man who worked for years (six years as assistant to the governor of Texas and then eight as assistant to the president) to destroy the lives of LGBT people. Of course people wish him nothing but the worst. And his interference in our marriages gives us the right to comment on his.
I’d love to have a long talk with the ex wife [on tape] lubricated by many cocktails. Oh the havoc she could, and should cause! Anyone have her number? She may be the key to this country’s salvation.
Oh, that’s right; the Rethuglicans like Rove are immune to shame by their own hypocrisy.
It’s about time this republican rag put our a great articale.
A terrible person, Karl Rove. I met him once, briefly, when he spoke at a direct marketing meeting here in North Texas. Already, in 1984 or 1985, he was traveling with a little entourage. Already, he was ugly as sin. And already, newspapers were eating up stories about his competitive acumen.
One feature, I believe in the NYT Magazine, told me more than I wanted to know. Darby, who had apparently met him when she was an art assistant in pr or marketing, commented that he was so competitive he even competed with her and with their (then-little) boy. He was so mean to them on the miniature golf course that he made them cry.
Only question: Why would she stay around so long? The kid left for Stanford 2 years ago!
im definitely on the republican rag, heavy flow!
I love David Taffets (in your face style of writing). More candor and less Democratic wimpyism. Those rethuglicans are mean and the dems to need to grow a spine like David!
Homosexuality is not a choice. Just like you don’t choose the color of your skin, you cannot choose whom you are sexually attracted to. If you can, sorry, but you are not heterosexual, you are bi-sexual. Virtually all major psychological and medical experts agree that sexual orientation is NOT a choice. Most gay people will tell you its not a choice. Common sense will tell you its not a choice. While science is relatively new to studying homosexuality, studies tend to indicate that its biological.

There is overwhelming scientific evidence that homosexuality is not a choice. Sexual orientation is generally a biological trait that is determined pre-natally, although there is no one certain thing that explains all of the cases. “Nurture” may have some effect, but for the most part it is biological.
People like him are why we marched on Washington DC in the March for Equality in 2009! We must continue to march for marriage equality, repeal of DADT and passing ENDA for all of GLBT people of this nation. We cannot allow righteous SOBs such as Rove keep us down!!!
@shadow_man who said: “Homosexuality is not a choice.”
I don’t necessarily disagree with you. I have no data (nor willingness to take the time to read all your references) but I know my personal anecdotal experience is that I didn’t “choose” to be straight. That’s just who I am. The thought of naked women makes my dick get hard. Naked men, not so much. So why anyone would think you can “choose” something else is beyond me.
But I’m not commenting to agree or refute the notion of sexual orientation as choice. I’m commenting to say I don’t think choice is relevant as a matter of civil rights.
I choose to be Jewish. I could convert anytime, but Judaism is my choice. The Constitution affords me all its civil rights no matter my religious choice.
I choose to speak my mind to advocate liberal politics. Surely, political orientation is NOT biological, it is a choice. But again, the Constitution affords me all my civil rights.
My point is that full recognition under the law in all matters — employment, housing, MARRIAGE — should not be related to my freedom to make personal choices. The law should be blind to my choices, otherwise the government is in the business of deciding what we all should be choosing, from politics to religion to sexual orientation.
@David Taffet: Thanks for the biting commentary. I’ll be sure to check back for your writings.
Correction, Mr. Taffett. Your constitutional right to freedom of the press gives you the right to comment. That right certainly trumps anyone’s interference in anything. So comment all you like. If anyone disagrees (like Check your Facts, for example), I’m sure they’ll let you know.
David, tweak your article for corrections and then release it on the internet, twiitter, facebook, email, etc. I didn’t know about Rowe’s divorces until I read your article. This is the kind of news everyone needs to hear.
Wow I am amazed by the hate and fear in the comments. Lets move forward . I hate living in the past. Where are we today and how are we going to get there? What do leaders do?
The good ones lead with love.
