I’m pretty sure that if she wanted people to know, she would say something, whether she is or isn’t or whether she decides to stay in or come out of the closet is her decision – not anyone elses. I get so sick of hearing “why doesn’t just come out already”…why can’t people just let the person make their own decisions and stop pushing them into something they’re not ready for emotionally – if you’re comfortable and wanna come flying out, then by all means do it, but if you’re not, don’t let ANYONE tell you that you “have” to, or push you into doing something you’re not ready to do – myself for instance – I am not out to my immediate family – I am an only child, and have a very close knit relationship with my parents, and most of my close relatives, I also come from a very rural area, and grew up hearing all of the hate and antigay hooplah – regardless, I could care less what anyone thinks or feels other than my parents, and I am not at a point in my life, even at 33 to chance losing them, they’re not just my parents, they’re my best friends, been there for me through everything, no questions asked, even my through my divorce in my “confused” days, and no one…and I mean NO ONE, will ever tell me I have to tell them…I will tell them when I am d*mn well good and ready…and yes, the saying “momma always knows” is more than likely true, and I think they probably both know, but it’s never been officially talked about. The day will come when I am ready, but that is not today, and more than likely not tomorrow.
sorry but i can’t support living in a closet no matter who you are. it is clear that latifa is worried what the ultra religion black community will say and how it will effect her pocket book. by covering it up..she is confirming that she thinks there is something wrong with being gay. i say……come out….chow down…BTW bdub77, that is a great coming out story.
