HIV360-Fellowship-1600x900The Human Rights Campaign Foundation has announced a new fellowship program for young people working in communities vulnerable to or affected by HIV.
The nine-month fellowship is for people under the age of 35 who play leadership roles with local organizations and initiatives focused on communities hit hardest by HIV.
The fellowship is funded with support from the Elton John AIDS Foundation.
To be eligible, applicants must be in a leadership position with a not-for-profit organization or initiative affiliated with a not-for-profit organization providing HIV-related services or engaging in HIV-related advocacy. Applicants may also work with an HIV-focused initiative within a broader service or advocacy organization.
The fellows’ experience will include online and in-person training and coaching in communications, grant writing, fundraising, and other aspects of successful nonprofit management focused on strengthening their own community organizations.
“This fellowship will ensure that the next generation of leaders is provided with resources and mentorship opportunities that will help them not only succeed, but deeply impact the way their communities combat HIV,” said Marvell Terry, HRC’s HIV project manager and founder of a community-based organization in Memphis, Tenn.
