For those who hadn’t already heard, Blythe Beck — the naughty and outrageous chef at Hector’s on Henderson for the last three years or so — left the Uptown-adjacent eatery to take over the kitchen at Central 214 in the Hotel Palomar, which had been without a captain since Tom Fleming left mid-2008. But that also left a hole at Hector’s.
But not for long. Today comes word that the gay-owned New American restaurant has hired Troy Kingsley, formerly with Nick & Sam’s and others, to take over. Kingsley is a James Beard scholarship recipient and a 1999 graduate of the CIA (that’s the Culinary Institute of America, nothing covert) who promises to create a new menu of light fare.
he’s quite a delicious dish. mama’s hungry now!
Great move for Hector’s actually. Hector needs to return his place to the original vision he had.
Who needs a whiny, bipolar, irresponsible business partner in the kitchen. Good luck to Hector’s.
