San Antonio lesbi-rockers Girl in a Coma have started their Adventures in Coverland contest although I can’t quite figure out the prize. They are releasing songs from Coverland in three volumes and today, their label, Blackheart Records has released the first two. GIAC covers The Beatles’ While My Guitar Gently Weeps which is pretty good and Selena’s “Si Una Vez” which blew my mind.
They played “Si Una Vez” at SXSW last month, which you can see here. It’s a great performance, but they pulled it back enough for the recorded version to make it crazy good.
