Gifted3David Richardson and Todd Seaton, who have been behind more stores on Cedar Springs Road over the years than anyone else, have opened a new gift store called Gifted.

“We’ve been thinking of it for awhile,” Seaton said. “The street no longer has a gift store, and we decided to fill that void.

Richardson called it moderately priced with a contemporary look — somewhere between the old Off the Street and An Occasional Piece. The new store even sits in Off the Street’s last location.

“New and innovative gift ideas,” Richardson said.

The store features jewelry, decorative glassware, cards, chocolate and more. Much of the jewelry is for women.

The store just opened this week in time for Christmas, but Richardson doesn’t believe he missed much of the Christmas market.

“Our customers shop in big box stores for family early in the shopping season and then come to us the last week to shop for each other,” Richardson said.

He said he’s planning to add artwork from local artists and potted orchids among the gifts. New items are arriving daily.
