Gay man becomes Calif. Speaker
While gay Texans are looking for their first open LGBT state representative since Glen Maxey, California’s Assembly has appointed one of theirs Speaker.
First-term assemblyman John A. Pérez was sworn in as Assembly Speaker on Monday, according to the Los Angeles Times.
After his swearing-in, the Los Angeles Gay Men’s Chorus entertained with several show tunes. Now, more than just getting a gay or lesbian elected to the Texas House, wouldn’t you just love to see the Turtle Creek Chorale performing in front of some of our less friendly representatives?
