David Call was gay bashed in Richardson last November and reports he is recovering but will need additional surgery this month.
Friends of his from Second Chance Players sent Dallas Voice an email that said he has set up a GoFundMe to help with his medical bills.
Here’s what Call posted on the fundraising site:
“I regret to post that a gay basher viciously attacked me on Nov. 9 in Richardson. I have been on an emotional roller coaster after several visits to the ER and consultations with a surgical team. Now, I finally understand what may happen next.
“I am saddened to say that this situation has taken a toll on my psychological well-being, as well as my business and home life. My ongoing concussion has negatively impacted my business, and my zest for life hangs by a thread. The gay bashing of my face has left me battered more on the inside, than the outside.
“Additionally, I have lost my insurance, and now the medical bills are piling up. This includes the upcoming full ocular surgery and the complete reconstruction of my nose. I have not been one to ask for help, but at this juncture, I am not certain I will get through this situation without some help. I am grateful to you!”
