From the ones we missed file, above is touching video footage of North Texas’ own LeAnn Rimes performing with the Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles — led by guest conductor Tim Seelig — at a holiday concert last month. Rimes, who grew up in Garland, is overcome with tears as she talks about the gay youth suicide crisis before teaming with the chorus for a beautiful performance of “The Rose.”
Fast forward to tonight, when Rimes is performing again – this time at a fundraiser for (gasp!) House GOP freshmen. As Queerty notes, the fundraiser is being hosted by California Rep. Jeff Denham, who, while a state senator, repeatedly voted against recognition of marriages from other states. And the $2,500-a-plate fundraiser is designed to re-elect lawmakers who undoubtedly will help block consideration of any pro-LGBT legislation — including a federal law to protect gay kids from bullying in public schools — for the next two years.
So, to rephrase the question from the headline, should the LGBT community have learned something about Rimes from her extramarital affair with Eddie Cibrian?

LeAnn wants to have her cake and eat it too. Although she
supported Senator McCain’s run for Washington, she now refuses to
specifically state her preference for Republican/right wing
politics on her Twitter; sidestepping by claiming that “we don’t
know her politics and therefore shouldn’t judge.” Her career has
almost crashed at this point and she’s trying to kiss the arses of
the right-wing country music fans, whilst simultaneously assuring
her left-wing fans that she was only at the fundraiser because she
is an “entertainer” and was just doing her job and “entertaining
people”. Problem is, she has some gay friends that she leaned on
for the sake of her career; there is a crapload of song writers and
producers that will shatter her already failing career if she
doesn’t play her cards right. LeAnn is a Republican, but as an
“entertainer” she is trying to maintain what little fan base and
industry connections she has left. So she is playing both
sides.

LeAnn has a lot of gay fans and is highly gay friendly. All artists sing for politicians. It rarely has anything to do with an artists political affiliations…it is just part of the business as it is all about MONEY. Elton John has performed for conservatives, too. Conservatives have hip people perform for them because people like Toby Keith are too busy running Klan rallies. Plus, its makes the neo-con’s look cool when they have people like LeAnn sing for their functions, because it makes them look less like old, white, prejudice pricks.
Why does this come as a surprise, Leann only does charity or what she perceives as “good works” so that she can stage those pda and beach photo-ops with Eddie Cibrian. She can’t even show compassion to the people who were hurt by her affair, so we all knew that she wasn’t being sincere when she did that concert with the GMCLA. Would a person full of compassion say that they had a right to be selfish ( in regards to her affair with EC) because she took care of people all her life? Everything that Leann does is to benefit her name and image. Just look how she has been blasting the media with all this stuff about her engagement to Eddie Cibrian. And when her fans asked her to be humble, she told them that she had a right to share her happiness with the world. With all the backlash she is getting be prepared for Leann to release news on how she care about people with Psoriasis or she is going to improve her image by staging a photo-op with BG and EC kids.
