An group called Fort Worth Area Indivisible is joining others efforts across the country to stage a “No Kings Rally” on Saturday, June 14, starting at noon at Burk Burnett Park, 501 W 7th St. in Fort Worth.

“National tyranny, local clowns — Tarrant County is done!” declares a flyer promoting the rally. “Pull up to the rally, where people power meets solidarity and a lil’ righteous rebellion.”

More than 800 people have registered for the event, “but we expect around 1,500 or so to attend,” organizers have said. “Our event will bring together residents from all walks of life for an afternoon of powerful speeches and community building.

“This isn’t a protest march; it’s a rally and a gathering — a space to build power, deepen connections and stand together for a just, inclusive future,” organizers said in a press release.

The rally will include speakers who “provide voices to oppressed communities in an effort to resist oppression, take actions to protect the oppressed and to find common ground,” the press release notes.

“Our speakers will touch on immigration, foreign policy, education, civil rights, labor, LGBTQIA issues, free press and more. We will also have local community organizations to educate attendees on available resources.”
