Next June, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the 1969 Stonewall Riots — the birth of the modern LGBT right movement — New York City, home of the legendary Stonewall Inn, will host World Pride 2019. And Virgin Atlantic airlines is planning to give Pride partiers traveling from London to NYC the ride of their life to celebrate.

The airline is offering “the world’s first known flight fully staffed by LGBT+ people” in June, according to the British LGBT newspaper Pink News. The one-time Pride Flight will feature LGBT pilots and cabin crew, Broadway actor and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt star Titus Burgess as master of ceremonies, an on-board DJ, drag queen bingo, a Judy Garland sing-along and inter-seat speed dating,

Virgin Atlantic and Virgin Holidays teamed up with NYC & Company, New York’s official marketing, tourism and partnership agency, to offer the special Pride Flight. NYC& Company President and Chief Executive Fred Dixon said World Pride is expected to attract more than 3 million visitors and will be “one of the largest LGBTQ events in history.”

Pride Flight leaves from London Heathrow on Friday June 28, 2019 and lands at NYC’s Newark Airport. The return date is flexible, and prices start at $500 for the Economy Light ticket. You also have the option of a three-night Virgin Holidays package starting at $920.
A portion of each ticket sold will be donated to The Attitude Magazine Foundation, working on community Pride initiatives in the UK.
