This Friday is Day of Silence. Students in more than 8,000 schools across the country will participate. During that day, those who support radical ideas like not bullying LGBT students will remain silent through the day. GLSEN sponsors the nationwide event.
Kids quiet in class? All day? Every teacher I know thinks Day of Silence is a great idea and hopes every student will participate.
But not Fox. Fox says that “family advocacy groups” (that’s code for anti-gay groups) use the day to “indoctrinate kids and force a pro-gay agenda.”
Fox suggests that the anti-bullying message could be spread “after school and off-campus.” Because that’s when teachers do most of their teaching and students do most of their learning.
Meanwhile, the American Family Association is urging parents to keep their children out of school that day.
And Fox thinks that’s fine. Because students sitting quietly in class in disruptive and a waste of taxpayer money. But keeping children home from school doesn’t disrupt their learning and doesn’t waste taxpayer money.
There’s only one place to go for all your gay hate needs… Fox News. The odd thing about Fox News is they’ve decided to keep Bill O’Reilly who according to TheSmokingGun.com shoved a sex toy up his behind while sex talking to his producer Andrea Macris. Remember republicans think the constitution only applies to heterosexual, God fearing hypocrites.
is anyone surprised that this ignorant band of horses (asses) have determined that it’s a waste of “taxpayer money?” I’m really curious as to how it costs $?
Before anybody gets their boxers in a bunch, I’m a lesbian and I support the Day of Silence.
I’ve read the Fox News article you linked and I don’t see any hate in it. What I see is a news organization presenting both sides of a story, something other MSM outlets refuse to do. The fact that they’re offering both sides of the story (while only linking GLSEN and not the “family” organizations, mind you) does not mean they agree with one side or the other.
Expecting the news to only present your point of view as “tolerance” is every bit as hypocritical as you accuse those so-called “Christian” groups of being.
The gay community will progress faster and make more educated decisions after we stop watching the frequently incorrect and always biased news on FOX, CNN, HLN and their networks.
