UPDATE: Video of the press conference at the Texas Capitol regarding SB 12:
Equality Texas is calling on LGBTQ Texans and their allies who will be in Austin tomorrow (Tuesday, May 13) to stop by the Capitol to drop a card or, if possible, testify against Senate Bill 12, which is set for a hearing before the Senate Public Education Committee. The hearing, which will also address seven other pieces of proposed legislation, starts at 8 a.m. in JHR 140.
The purpose of SB 12 is to ban diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives and programs in Texas public schools and to require parental consent for a student to access mental health services. It also includes a “don’t say gay” provision similar to legislation passed in Florida that prohibits educators and students from discussing anything related to LGBTQ people or issues.
At 9 a.m. in the Speakers Press Conference Room (2W.6), advocates from ACLU-Texas, Students Engaged in Advancing Texas (SEAT) and Equality Texas will hold a press conference to “speak out against the bill and uplift the voices of those most impacted by its consequences.”
Speakers will include Azeemah Sadiq and Marshall Romero with SEAT, Jonathan Gooch with Equality Texas and Ash Hall with ACLU-Texas.
Representatives from these organizations as well as Legal Defense Fund, Intercultural Development Research Association, Texas Students for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and other organizations across the state will also be testifying against SB 12 during the committee hearing.

I can’t imagine being a DEI hire. It would require having no self respect and a capacity to take something from someone more deserving. Unfortunately the narcissism of gay people won’t allow them to admit this is true.
