UPDATE: According to a Dallas Police Department report, officers responded to a shooting call in the 4400 block of Maple Avenue (behind the Jack in the Box restaurant on Maple at Hondo Street) at about 2:35 p.m. Saturday, July 26, where they found Augustin Espinosa, 44. There was no bond listed on the deadly conduct charge.
Dallas County jail records note that bond amounts listed reflect the initial bond set and that the total bond amount “excludes holds from other jurisdictions.)

ORIGINAL POST: According to a call to Dallas Voice, police, emergency medical services and a medical examiner were at Kaliente on Maple Avenue late Saturday afternoon, July 26.
However, reports posted to social media by DFW Scanner say that police were investigating a dead body found behind the Jack in the Box, which is across Hondo Street from Kaliente. So it is likley that personnel parked outside the nightclub were part of the investigation across the street.
The DFW Scanner post, made between 4 and 5 p.m., noted “Northwest division officers are waiting for CSU, homicide detectives and the medical examiner to arrive. According to scanner traffic, the victim was found with gunshot wounds. DFR responded but did not transport.”
We will update this post as more information becomes available.
